New meaning in art is needed. We must balance the good of every painting made to date and the bad of the same. In essence, it is the authority of the artists of this age to decide what is Artistic about science and what is the Science in Art? Before the Renaissance; art was basically a trade i.e unimportant. Artists didn’t even sign there work! Nothing like today’s world; Due to changing cultures, empires, countries, wars, and most importantly individuals( Donatello,Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, Rembrandt, Titian; to name a few in the beginning) ART was made a noble lifestyle. Others existed before and countless others after. From the Renaissance, Academia, Impressionism, Modernism to today in the here and know it is clear; Once a artistic style is catergorized it is already in decline! To place types of art into a neatly made package i.e a name it has lost its power already to captivate an audience because in art words mean nothing; it is the visual world not the verbal that reigns supreme. To explain it plainly once it is talked of, the art movement is already dead; that growth of artistic learning has ended. So now we as artists have vasts amounts of artistic science or paintings, architecture, technology, cultures and experiences to pull from to freely shape art for the future. But we as Michelangelo once put it we must “separate the necessary from the incidental”.
The last few years have been crazy.. My art of that time reflected that, I created art constantly in response to all the things I had went through and although I am proud of what I have learned, experienced and lived with; I will be leaving my hometown soon and can not carry all my art with me. So to prevent it from being misused or mistreated I decided to destroy it myself.
What happens if you awoke one day and could’nt get something off your mind? Would it drive you crazy, would you get up, get out and get something? Or would you just say fuck it?! Well I do what I can; No matter what I will continue to strive to do better every minute of every hour of every day to be a better artist. I hope that you can understand because I’ve made my mind up.
Sight is a vital instrument for all organic creatures, human beings ability to be able to not only see in three dimensions but to also contemplate and be amazed by this phenomenon is taken for granted by many. I have been very busy with studying perspective and its part in art as well as composition. Making countless life drawings, working tirelessly. I have slowly begun to realize much about sight and how to strengthen my seeing, so that I may strengthen my art.
As an artist I have learned much and there is still much to learn. I wish to meet other artists; I wish to trade artistic thoughts.. The Internet is too large for there not to be a collective of artists trading ideas..
I find it strange that in these modern times, free flowing information from every source of media, life, entertainment that art as an actual creative pursuit has not grown in DECADES..
Instead what we have is the continue use and in some cases abuse of visual imagery..rather than actual growth. On one hand the applied arts such as all forms of graphic design(including advertising), and all current forms of commercial art basically influence or alter art that is made independently from it; Simply look at Ron English and one can see modern times effect on the brain so it is not hard to see the sheer power of images, not to mention society’s current state. We as artists must be aware of this at all times!!
True art is not currently being made; just look in the last ten years where are the paintings of our culture that are not basically juxtaposes of the things, places, people we experience. Honestly I think one hundred years from now I’m afraid our children will not be able to see the beauty, craziness and life in our work. It seems either we are in a current phase of overload or just laziness.
Not to say there are not artists creating forward thinking and truly putting there best into there work but that is few and far between..Its not what you draw or how you draw but why; Are you willing to die behind your art is a good question..I know I am and I want to talk to artists who feel the same way
I do not mind artist who don’t feel that way and simply enjoys art but does not truly love it or want to always become better. I enjoy media in all its forms but art, real art reaches viewers differently than others, we must make that clear no matter what form of art you employ.
As an artist I have learned much and there is still much to learn. I wish to meet other artists; I wish to trade artistic thoughts.. The internet is too large for there not to be a collective of artists trading ideas..
“I think it is more difficult than ever to be a spiritual artist, but in my opinion, it is the only kind of heroic artist that makes sense in threatening modern times, as Kandinsky makes clear.”
